Read the following material before coming to class. The dates below (especially the Exam dates) are tentative. I reserve the right to make changes if the need arises, but I will always give you at least 1 week’s warning. For the exams you are responsible for (1) the specific sections listed below and (2) any extra information that I give you in lecture. (It would behoove you to refer to (2) as "pearls of wisdom" :-)

Aug 20: Units 04-06: The night sky, constellations, less hugging (omit 4.4)
Aug 25: Units 07-09: Eclipses, lunar phases, hugging replaced by waterboarding..
Aug 27: Exam 01
Sep 01: Units 10-13: Old dead guys.
Sep 03: Units 21-23: Light and atoms. (Skip 23.5)
Sep 08: Units 24-26: More light..
Sep 10: Exam 02
Sep 15: Units 32-34: The Solar System.
Sep 17: Units 35, 36, 38-40 (Omit 35.3-4, 39.2): Terrestrial Planets.
Sep 22: Units 42-44: Jovian Planets.
Sep 24: Exam 03
Sep 29: Units 41, 46-48: Earth smashers!
Oct 01: Units 47, 48 The end of the world. 2012.
Oct 08: Units 49, 50. Sun.
Oct 13: Units 51, 52 & 54. Stars
Oct 15: Exam 04
Oct 20: Units 55.1-3, 58.1, 59
Oct 22: Units 60, 61.1-2, 62:1-2
Oct 27: Units 64.4, 65, 66.1.
Oct 29: Units 67.1, 68.
Nov 03: Exam 05
