I received my PhD in 1978 from Rice University in the Department of Space Physics and Astronomy. My research advisor was Dr. Joseph W. Chamberlain. The title of my dissertation is "A Quantitative Analysis of the Light Reflected from Venus." For the past 15 years I have been fortunate to work on gamma-ray burst data with the BATSE team at Marshall Space Flight Center and the gamma-ray burst team at the Centre d'Etude des Rayonnements Spatiale (CESR) in Toulouse, France. If you are interested in a career in Astrophysics, please feel free to write to me. You should also check out the recent survey which shows the very good salaries that Physics and Astronomy majors command. (APS)
