9/91--5/92 and Summers 1995, 1997, 2005: Researcher at the Centre d'Etude Spatiale des Rayonnements, Toulouse, France. Studies of Gamma-Ray Bursts.

8/87 -- 6/00: Member of the Burst And Transient Source Experiment team at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center. Gamma-ray burst time profiles, detector calibration.

Summers, 1988, '89, '90, '91, '92, '93 '94: NASA-ASEE Summer Faculty Fellow at the Marshall Space Flight Center. The Burst And Transient Source Experiment (BATSE) on the Gamma-Ray Observatory. Determined the energy calibration and response functions for BATSE. Analysis of gamma-ray burst time profiles.

Summer, 1987: Army Summer Fellow. Remote Sensing. Mathematical modelling.

Summers, 1985, '86: NASA-ASEE Summer Faculty Fellow at the Marshall Space Flight Center. Numerical analysis of Space Shuttle Glow and Stratospheric Aeronomy.

8/80--7/84: Visiting Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Texas A&M University. Primary responsibilities were the design and supervision of an educational observatory and teaching introductory astronomy.

5/78--8/80: Research Associate, Department of Space Physics, Rice University. Planetary Atmospheres. Numerical analysis of radiative transfer problems.

3/73--8/74: Nuclear Design Scientist, Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Core-reactivity computations. Thermal profiles of fuel plates.

Pre-1973: Busboy in a seafood restaurent in New Orleans. (All the restaurants in West End Park have been erased thanks to Katrina.) Drove a yellow cab. Counted bottles for the 7-up company (math skills highly important :) Usher and cashier at the Robert E. Lee theater in New Orleans. French tutor.
